Every day is a gift, and every moment is a treasure; somehow being blessed with a child with special needs helps you understand this in a way that you never would have otherwise. God makes no mistakes. I just want to remind you, Mama, of what I often need someone to remind me.
God specifically chose you to be the mother of your child.
No matter the needs, no matter the disease, no matter the issues, He knows that you are the exact one who can do the job through His strength.
Your child is a perfect part of his unfathomable, intricate plan for the entire world, and He will provide everything you need to do the job He has for you. His peace will flood over you beyond explanation. His mercy will fill your soul at the exact moment you need it. His grace will uplift your heart when mistakes happen. When it seems a job too big for you, when things aren’t going exactly as you plan, when the health insurance isn’t covering the bill, or when the medication isn’t working as it should, run to Jesus. His ear is always open and his hand is always loving. He longs to hear from you and answer your prayer.
Dear Heavenly Father:
Before the world could ever know, You created my precious child and crafted a beautiful blueprint for her life. Having special needs and even disabilities provides a different kind of normal for our family, but we are determined to praise you in the storm. While I’m so blessed to be the mama, we have our good days and our bad. Yet you guide us through each one, providing mercy and grace in exact measure. Now we come before you, simply asking that you measure out for us exactly what we need once more. That you who calms storms with your voice would calm the storms of our hearts with your presence. Amen.
Our month of prayer is coming to a close this week, but we hope that you’ll continue this habit throughout 2015! What are you praying for today?
We’re celebrating the release of Lucado Treasury of Bedtime Prayers: Prayers for bedtime and every time of day which is available everywhere tomorrow! Max and Denalyn Lucado firmly believe that prayer is the foundation of a believer’s life, and they hope that this book will introduce your children to a lifetime of conversation with God!
