9 Bible Verses to Memorize as a Family this Fall
The four passages below are wonderful expressions of thanksgiving and praise! These verses are some of my favorites for turning my mind to the mighty works of God and all He has done for me.
Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works! Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord! Psalm 105:1-3 ESV
Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Psalm 100:1-3 NKJV
For He who is mighty has done great things for me, And holy is His name. And His mercy is on those who fear Him, From generation to generation. Luke 1:49-50 ESV
Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, Thanksgiving and honor and power and might, Be to our God forever and ever. Amen. Revelation 7:1 ESV
This passage covers all four seasons!
For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:10-11 NKJV
These verses are reminders to give thanks to God in prayer as we walk with Him.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV
As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Colossians 2:6-7 NKJV
Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving. Colossians 4:2 NKJV
And as a little bonus…fall is a great time to get a head-start on memorizing some Christmas verses!
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 NKJV
